Canton is built for institutional finance. Its sequencers and mediators keep transactions in order, support KYC, and protect privacy. DAML works like other smart contract languages, but it is designed around rights, obligations, and access rules. Canton also uses a shared system of record where participants see only the data relevant to them. This allows institutions to use the same infrastructure without exposing sensitive information.
